Visit to Krushi Homes

Members of the Math Club from Mahindra University visited Krushi Home, an orphanage for boys, over the weekend, where they engaged the young residents in a day filled with learning and fun. The initiative aimed to support students with their math homework and provide them with a unique opportunity to engage with mathematics in an enjoyable and practical way.

An initiative done in collaboration with the club Outreach, the visit included a series of sessions where club members taught important mathematical concepts to the boys. Students from the 7th and 8th grades were introduced to the topics of polynomials and mensuration, both of which are critical parts of their curriculum. Through interactive teaching methods, the club members ensured the students grasped these foundational topics, while also encouraging their curiosity for more advanced mathematics.
For the 10th graders, the focus shifted to preparation for their upcoming board exams. Volunteers provided them with guidance on problem-solving strategies and offered tips to tackle challenging exam questions with confidence.

To further inspire a love for mathematics, the Math Club organized a small competition for the students. The competition encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving, providing the boys with a platform to showcase their understanding of the subject while promoting healthy peer interaction.

Personally, It was an extremely rewarding experience to interact with the boys and I'm grateful to Outreach for collaborating with us for this initiative. We are very motivated to make these visits a recurring occurrence as they are a striking representation of what our club stands for; To make the beauty of maths vibrantly posed and accessible to anyone willing to hear us geek out!
